Girls Camp :)

This past week was Girls Camp for our ward, and my first time as a YCL! It was so much fun! We went to this place called Ohanapecosh (up by Mount Ranier) and everything was super awesome :) While we were there, we YCL's wrote a little song about camp. It started out as a song about being cold, but it kind of transformed into what you see below:

Sweet 16!

For about the past month, Cameron has been telling me, "Lindsey, your present is really cool!" And I have been very confused, because I didn't even know what I wanted that bad. I was completely baffled- what could possibly be so exciting? It was this:









For those of you who don't know what this is, let me explain. My favorite book in the entire world is Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn. The necklace above is the symbol for a Tin Misting :) I have been wanting one of these necklaces for years! I couldn't believe that Cameron even thought of this, and it was really cool that he got it for me! This is one of the best birthday presents ever. :)

Friday the tenth. What a normal day, right? The last day of school, so walking home and just chilling the rest of the day, that's what I thought. Little did I know...
After I got home from the annual walk on the last day of school, I was exausted. Mom told me we had to go to the stake center to try on bloomers for trek later that day, but I just forgot about that. All I wanted to do was read a book and maybe take a nap. So I did.
But at around 5:50, Mom came in and said we had to be at the stake center by 6 becuase the lady who had the bloomers had to leave. I didn't really want to go; I was sleeping, for goodness sakes. But she told me to brush my teeth and hair, and get in the car.
Then we got to the stake cernter, and there were streamers and balloons. I didn't really get it for a minute, but then I saw Brett sitting on a table. Then it hit me- this was a party. for me! i had no idea- my birthday isn't until the 23rd, and I hadn't picked up on the clues that apparently had been right in front of me for the past month or so. And it was AWESOME! We played games, had fondue (yummy!) and did all that fun party stuff! SUPER FUN :)

Kiersten gave me these awesome bumper stickers and the cute hat :)

Alex got me these awesome little "Marillas". If you don't remember what those are, in pit we combined the names of our instruments with animals. (gorillas+marimba = marillas)

Brinnley :) The camp chair I'm sitting in was decorated by her with my name and music notes! She also gave me that cute picture frame that goes perfectly with my room.

Cheyenne drew an amazing picture of a dragon playing the guitar. I don't know if you can see it really well in this picture, but it's beautiful.

This blanket that Tori gave me is so warm and super boss! It's going to be perfect for band trips!

There is a story behind this gift: The bus Brett and I ride goes right by Wendy's every day after school. And every day I tell him that I want a chocolate frosty, because I really do! If I crave anything, it's a frosty! Knowing that, and hearing me say I want a frosty every week day, Brett got me a gift card so now I can go get a frosty or two :)

This is now the best shirt I own! Megan, you have great taste :)

Lily! You can't really see it in the picture, but Lily got me the super cute little ceramic vase with the scenty sticks. It matches my room perfectly, and it smells really good!

One day at lunch, Justin Merrill was playing a Pirates song in the seminary building, and I told Katie that I was going to get a Pirates book someday. And now I have one sitting on my piano- it's so awesome! I LOVE playing anything written by Hans Zimmer, especially the Pirates songs. The button she got me says "Musicians duet bettter". (say it out loud ;)

The Merrills got me the 5th Harry Potter movie and movie stuff! I love Harry Potter, so it was perfect! :)

Celina knows me well- she got me a Symphony bar, Pocky, and a cute bracelet that says "Friends forever" on one side and "share hopes fears" on the other.

To close, I'd like to send a huge THANK YOU to everyone who planned/came to my party. This was the best birthday EVER!
